Installing & Maintaining Your Grease Guard® Rooftop Defense System®

Part of the success of Grease Guard® Rooftop Defense System® is that it is easily installed and maintained. Rooftop Solutions' National Service Team is certified to install the system on all rooftops and can provide customized Maintenance Programs tailored to fit the needs of your building and facility.


Prefer to install and maintain the Grease Guard® Rooftop Defense System® yourself? No problem! One of the most common questions our field technicians answer is, “How hard is it to install this thing?” The answer is simple: Not hard at all. If you have just 30-45 minutes to spare, your Rooftop Grease Guard® will be up and running in no time. The maintenance is a piece of cake, too.

On How to Install a Grease Containment System

STEP 1

Use the slide-in grooves and an allen wrench to connect the frames and corners.

STEP 2

Place filter media around exhaust fan and cut out U shape for a snug fit around the fan.

STEP 3

Install hold-down poles to keep everything in place.

Installation

Maintenance

Inspection

The system's layers, filter, extrusions and/or frame, flashing, and hold down poles should be inspected for grease, debris, and deterioration.

Rotation

The unit's filter set can be rotated 180 degrees, which can double its life expectancy. Rotations should only take 10-15 minutes per unit.

Replacement

Filter media should be replaced when grease reaches the third layer of blue material in the system. Replacement filters include everything needed for one unit.
